INTEGRATE UK Youth Conference
What an impactful and powerful day at the INTEGRATE UK preview - Change makers against youth violence at . Congratulations to everyone involved in the film which is thought-provoking, relevant and expertly executed, tackling the key issue of knife crime in our cities today. Its message is crucial for our youth and when the film is launched it will serve as an incredible educational resource for schools.
INTEGRATE are in the process of looking for funding to roll this out nationally to all UK schools. are proud to be part of this movement, providing the location, some of the actors, ideas and script.
The Integrate Youth Conference 2024, held at Bristol Aquarium on Friday, December 13th, was a huge success, with students and staff from a variety of schools coming together to discuss key concerns and issues for young people today. We witnessed great speeches and performances, two new compelling films, and candid debates. The first video, 'Theatre Boy,' addressed the relevant and detrimental impact of knife crime, while the second, 'Shade,' focused on colourism and how it impacts all communities.
Ann Rabea spoke eloquently about her personal narrative and has subsequently been asked to address Bristol City Council; Eleonor Keegan Phipps sung sweetly and with hope. Ru Naghoj brilliantly compared the afternoon. Ms Spence was asked to sit on the panel for the seminar on 'Diversifying the Curriculum' and had some fantastic suggestions for how to include equality and diversity into everything we do.
We were so proud of our Montpelier High School students and look forward to hearing more from them about how we can create a safer, more inclusive future for all.
The 2 new films that came out made by Integrate UK are Theatre Boy (filmed at MHS) and Shade (partly filmed at MHS) and both with students / staff from MHS.
